Rich traditions, proud history
Six Generations of Compassion: The Fry Family Legacy
For over a century and a half, the Fry family has been woven into the fabric of our community, providing unwavering support during life’s most challenging moments. From humble beginnings as furniture makers and casket craftsmen, their commitment to service has endured through generations.
1.Emanuel Fry (1847-1923):
Emanuel, the patriarch, arrived in Burlington, Iowa, in 1867. His vision extended beyond carpentry; he recognized the need for compassionate care during times of loss. In 1869, he settled in the fledgling town of Mediapolis, where he established the foundation for what would become a lasting legacy.
2.Arthur Fry (1874-1938):
Emanuel’s son, Arthur, followed in his father's footsteps. He embraced the role of an Undertaker with empathy and dedication. Arthur’s craftsmanship extended beyond woodwork; he crafted solace for grieving families.
3.Paul Fry (1899-1983):
Paul inherited the family calling. His gentle demeanor and commitment to excellence made him a trusted figure in Mediapolis. He expanded the funeral home’s services, ensuring families received comprehensive support.
4.Keith Fry (1925-1982):
Keith continued the tradition. His warm smile and ability to listen endeared him to generations. He modernized operations while preserving the heart of the family business.
5.David Fry:
David, the torchbearer, grew up within the walls of the funeral home. His passion for serving others led him to become a licensed funeral director. Under his leadership, Fry Funeral Home flourished.
6.Amber (Fry) Boedeker:
Amber, the 6th generation, carries forward the legacy. Her compassion, expertise, and commitment to families mirror those who came before her. As a funeral director, she honors the past while embracing the future.
Continuation of Care
The Fry family’s story is etched in the memories of countless families. From handmade caskets to personalized services, they have touched lives across generations. Today, Amber & her father, David, stand alongside their ancestors, ensuring that compassion remains the cornerstone of Fry Funeral Home.
